Eric Maynor Gets First Career Start

With Deron Williams sidelined for Friday’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers, the duties as top point guard fell to rookie Eric Maynor.

In his first NBA start, Maynor had 13 points (6-of-14 FGs), four rebounds, and 11 assists in 36 minutes of work. Maynor had played only 31 minutes all season before this game.

The Jazz drafted Maynor, 22, in the first round (20th overall) of this year's draft. At VCU, he averaged 22.4 points, 6.2 assists, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.7 steals per game as a senior.
